We implement "sensible fault tolerance" for small and medium networks as well as large enterprise networks.
With a Primary and Backup Server (that functions as a usable PC on the network) with externally configured harddrives, if any Primary Server component fails you can easily remove the hardrives from the Primary Server and attach it to the Backup Server. Your network can be back in production in the case of any Primary Server failure in 20 minutes.
